Tong Ren Tang, a Chinese pharmaceutical company, plans to double its overseas outlets in 2012.

The scheme forms part of the company's overall plan to tap the market outside mainland China by adding 100 stores over the next three years.

Elaborating on the plans, Tong Ren Tang Group Beijing deputy general manager and Hong Kong-based operation general manager Ding Yongling told xinhuanet, "We are aiming to put up 100 stores by the end of 2015. This would include tapping the markets in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Japan."

The company also plans to introduce 20 Ren Tang museums in the next three years to the overseas markets, that will showcase the traditional Chinese medicine, reported the website citing Ding.

In March 2012, Tong Ren Tang opened a store in Singapore, followed by an outlet in Hong Kong.

Founded in 1669, Tong Ren Tang currently operates 66 outlets across 16 countries.
