Gourmet Food & Wine Expo uncorks this week at the Metro Toronto ...

TORONTO ? The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo is back and it?s bigger than ever.

Running from Nov. 15-18 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo will host over 40,000 guests that will experience an?unparalleled opportunity to sample over 1,500 fine wines, beers and spirits from around the globe.

?This year?s Gourmet Food & Wine Expo has grown to be one of the largest that we have ever put on,? said Paul McNair, of the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo. ?We have wine, beer and spirits from around the world and delicious food from some of the best restaurants and chefs in Ontario. If you?re a foodie, wine lover, beer connoisseur, spirits aficionado, or just someone looking to try new and delicious food and drinks, the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo has something for everyone.?

Returning this year is the Food Network stage, highlighting celebrity chef Andrea Nicholson, Restaurant Takeover co-host and Top Chef Canada competitor. Andrea will be on stage with a free cooking demo for Expo attendees on Friday at 7:30PM.

Along with Nicholson, another familiar face from television at this year?s Expo is Kevin Brauch. The Thirsty Traveler will be hosting one of the many Tutored Tastings seminars. Brauch?s Saturday session will cover the World of Drinks, a demonstration of how to appreciate a variety of world class beverages selected by Brauch himself.

In addition to Brauch?s seminar, the Tutored Tastings Program will feature nineteen different classes led by the most knowledgeable and entertaining hosts in the wine world. Beginners and long-time wine lovers will be sure to find something to satisfy their curiosity.

With over 1,500 different beers, spirits and wine offerings, old favourites and newcomers will be on display for attendees to taste.

?There are so many great wines out there and the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo is the ideal place to learn about the differences between wines from around the world,? said Christopher Waters of the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo. ?You can sample the wines from Chile, jump over to France, go to Germany, then over to California and then finish in Ontario and discover what makes each region?s offerings so unique.?

The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo is also proud to once again partner with Second Harvest for the sixth year in a row. As Canada?s largest food rescue program, Second Harvest has been picking up donated, excess food, which would otherwise go to waste, and delivering it to over 200 community agencies in Toronto for the past 26 years.

Be sure to also drop by Caf? Verano to enjoy a luxurious blend of smooth and spicy coffees with a rich and lasting finish, compliments of Buick.?Visit any Buick display at the Expo for a chance to enter The Best Car Contest Ever to win a Buick vehicle.
